Regular sessions are held at different
venues around Telford and Wrekin. The session was opened by Emilia Quaranta, RSG Co-ordinator, who provided an overview of the Telford and Wrekin RSG and providing an overview of future activities. She also expressed her gratitude to the school for hosting the event and moved on to introducing the speaker for the session, Val Thornber - Beelingua. After trying to resolve some technical issues, the session started with Val providing a detailed overview of how stories can be a successful tool for teaching languages. She demonstrated how some simple stories created in Power Point could be adapted to fit in with the language and the skills teachers are trying to develop, as well as demonstrating how to use Little Tails of the Unexpected (commercial resource authored by al herself) as a teaching tool. The final part of the session included time for individual support using Powerpoint to create stories and also time to view a small showcase of resources currently available for the primary classroom and the opportunity to discuss these with other attendees allowing all the opportunity to network and share ideas.
