European Day of Languages at Tickford Park School
We had a fantastic day at Tickford Park school, where all our pupils from Foundation Stage to Year 6 learn French. We all dressed in costumes - from Thierry Henry to Coco Chanel .There was even a Mona Lisa!
After an assembly where we all displayed our costumes, we returned to our classroom cafés to participate in le petit dejeuner. Everyone ate their fill of croissants, brioche and chocolat chaud! There were activities throughout the day including café role plays, playing boules (there was also a Marseille vs Paris St. Germain football match at lunchtime) making menu cards, sending postcards from France, Monet paintings, cooking petit pains and crepes and even building our own Eiffel Towers (for the very youngest children). All the children were encouraged to bring something French to eat in their lunchboxes.
At the end of the afternoon we all shared our day and sang several French songs and played games.
The feedback from parents, pupils and staff was very positive and we are now looking forward to the next one!
